Academic Alliances Manager – Scientific Partnering & Alliances, AstraZeneca, Gothenburg, Västra Götaland, Sweden

AstraZeneca is looking to hire an Academic Alliances Manager within Scientific Partnering & Alliances. 

Scientific Partnering and Alliances (SP&A) is an integral part of Innovative Medicines and Early Development (IMED), partnering the Leadership Teams to identify, prioritise, evaluate and access external innovation. This will enable the team to execute timely, portfolio aligned decisions for Proof of Concept (PoC) deliverables. SP&A delivers results through proactive licensing, partnering strategy and focusing on high priority opportunities.

As you will be member of multinational, multifunctional teams, this position will contain the possibility of working with AstraZeneca colleagues and third parties anywhere in the world.

You will support major transactions relating to academic collaborations or lead smaller scale opportunities. You will also work closely with IMED clients to identify and evaluate research opportunities and ensure intra-team communications are effective.

Licensing Associate, Office for Technology Development, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX

The Licensing Associate is responsible for negotiating licenses of assigned intellectual properties in areas of biotechnology, medical devices, and copyrighted material. Additionally, they will assist in initial evaluation of new intellectual properties and identify companies best suited for commercial development of intellectual property consistent with university’s licensing strategy.

Principal Scientist/Technical Director, University Projects Portfolio, Northwestern University

Provides global technical leadership, expertise and gatekeeping in critical and strategic product families or process domain areas, supporting senior management team in achieving key business and project objectives. Sets up University program vision and strategy and develops global university project portfolio and ensures the right direction and deliverables of each project. Leads or supports innovation or implementation of technology and process for selected product families; leverages relationships with industry and regulatory agency, participates in external task force or panel to support Baxter’s position in current and future technology and process areas. Develops and mentors scientists and engineers; is a role model of technical leadership behaviors.

Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree with 12-14, or PhD with 10 years of industry experience.

Contract Administrator (Sponsored Research Specialist), The University of Iowa

The University of Iowa, Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP) seeks a highly motivated, organized and service-oriented professional to assume a key contract negotiator/administrator role.  Responsibilities include reviewing, drafting, negotiating and administering research related agreements. The successful candidate will use independent judgment to determine and negotiate acceptable terms for a variety of contracts including funding agreements, data use agreements, confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, and outgoing subawards. The position will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and University policies and procedures.  Must demonstrate effective communication skills and develop good working relationships with external sponsors, principal investigators and other University departments.
